3 Ways to Incorporate Beautiful Poinsettias into Your Holiday Décor

For many years poinsettias have been synonymous with the holiday season. In addition to being a thoughtful gift, these beautiful, live plants also add the perfect pop of color to holiday décor. Leafscape in Little Rock, Arkansas is now taking poinsettia orders just in time for your holiday festivities.

When it comes to Arkansas holiday décor, poinsettias are an easy way to make your space festive. Cut poinsettias can be used in holiday displays, but living, growing plants are ideal as with proper care, they last the whole season. Poinsettias come in many vibrant colors that are perfect for the holiday season. Here are several ideas for incorporating poinsettias into your holiday décor.

Groups of Three

One of the fundamental principles of decorating a space is incorporating the number three. When you are building up your holiday décor, place your poinsettias in groups of three. One looks lonely, two is boring, but using three or multiples of three gives your design depth.

Varying Height

It is also a good idea to have a variety of plant sizes and containers. When you are placing your poinsettias, show them off on different levels. Small wooden tables, crates, stools, and chairs, can all act as plant risers to give depth to your design and enhance your holiday décor.

Creating Centerpieces

Poinsettias make perfect table decorations for any space. Whether you are placing them on an entry way table or as a centerpiece on your dining table, here are several examples of how potted poinsettias in conjunction with other holiday design elements can be displayed as centerpieces.

For a traditional holiday look, place a potted poinsettia into the middle of a decorated wreath or several poinsettias into a classic metal bulb pan container. Surround either with charming tea lights to finish off the design.

If you want more of a whimsical look, pick out a glittery or foil decorative cover, add glitter ting ting sticks or ornament picks and scatter Christmas candies on the table. Your centerpiece can also be placed on a cheerful tablemat or decorative mirror to polish off your festive arrangement.

For a more rustic holiday look, you can forgo a decorative container and make your own. Wrap burlap fabric or plain brown paper around the grower pot placed in a plastic liner, securing it with green or red twine. Tie jingle bells or cinnamon sticks to the twine and stick pine cones on picks into the plant’s soil. Small evergreen trees can also be used as an accompaniment for your rustic poinsettia design. Natural items such as fruits or berries, pine cones, candles, lanterns, acorns, and unshelled nuts can also be used in conjunction with this look. Scatter them onto the table or layer them in glass vases grouped with your poinsettias.
